A worm gear linked to a motor moves the primary gear in worm gear motors. This configuration is perfect for a machine that needs a large reduction ratio, or more torque for less speed. Second, the setup's simplicity prevents the need for extra gears to make it operate. Since the output shaft cannot rotate when no power is applied, worm gear motors are excellent for applications that call for a self-locking or breaking function. Worm Gearheads can also transmit motion in a 90-degree angle.
